Narcotics Policy

Due to more stringent policies adopted by most major pharmacies and insurance companies, we can not prescribe more than 7 days of narcotics at a time.  Refills are can no longer be faxed or called into a pharmacy and generally require an evaluation by a physician prior to approval.  Narcotics can not be prescribed as an emergency, at night, or on weekends.

If you think you will need refills of controlled substances, please plan ahead and notify the office at least 24 hours ahead of time.  Please note that pharmacies may refuse to fill, and insurance refuse to pay, for prescriptions despite the patient possessing a legitimate prescription if they feel it is excessive or against their own guidelines.
